CASE STUDIES
ADVICE
Helping you with your complex issue, project or organisation. It might be your strategy or market, it might be your people or technology. It might be finding or being the right influencer. My objective is to be your 'critical friend', with a bird's eye view yet by your side.
ASSURANCE
A reality check of your situation or your intentions. This could be a major bid, a formal 'red-team' review, an organisational change. It's about asking the useful questions and assuring your answers. My objective is to help you build confidence in your plans.
AMBITION
Developing or realising your ambition is about the leadership of your people, your collaborators and your stakeholders. You could be looking for the Chair of a review, or an interim director for the short-term. More strategically, you may need a non-executive director to add new perspective to your board. My objective is to provide or nurture the leadership you need to help you find and deliver your ambitions.
for UK Defence Industry
Facilitating the group of major mid-cap defence supplier companies in their engagement with the UK Ministry of Defence.

Successfully put the voice of this important segment of defence industry on the map with Secretary of State and senior officials.

Brought the mid-cap voice to Phillip Dunne MP's review of the benefits of Defence to the wider prosperity of the UK.
2018
for ASC Australia

This Australian Government business enterprise sought assurance and advice on its professional engineering skills base for upcoming submarine major upgrade and upkeep contracts.
Through our provision and leadership of a small team of UK and Australian expertise, we were able to assess the immediate operational issues as well as the future challenges.
Our findings and advice informed the organisation’s strategic planning and provided assurance and strategic recommendations.
2019
for UK Submarine Delivery Agency
Created and led a deliberately diverse team of expertise from different sectors to assess the client’s specific concerns about the design management of a major programme.
Rapid exploration identified root causes and wider technical, organisational, and behavioural factors. Setting the findings in the context of lessons from other sectors ensured that our team's diagnosis and advice was grounded, readily accepted by the programme and actionable.
A follow-up review shows remarkable action - and hence critical improvements.
2020/2023
for Team Victoria Class, Canada

This industry grouping provides engineering support and deep maintenance for the Royal Canadian Navy’s submarine force.
As one of a 3-person expert team drawn from Australia, Canada and the UK, we conducted a fundamental assessment aimed at reducing time in maintenance.
Drawing on a successful transformation in the Royal Australian Navy’s submarine availability, as well as best practice from all three nations, we presented well-founded advice for the improvements sought by the industry Team and the government of Canada.
